a raise?

Episode 85

Do men find it easier to ask for a raise than women? Research supports the notion that gender determines how you are perceived when negotiating salary and women tend to be offered less money than their male counterparts. But is that really true? Listen in to this episode as part of our Breaking Money Silence® on the Economic Power of Women Series as I interview Rei Lemashov, an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, about his experience negotiating a salary as a woman, then as a man.

Rei Lemashov is a Practice Management Consultant for a regional wealth advisory firm. He works with financial advisors to maximize productivity, leverage technology, and uncover new business opportunities.

When he first entered the financial services industry, Rei was living as a woman. At 25, he came out as a transgender man and underwent medical gender confirmation. He now uses his experience to promote intersectional diversity and inclusion, and advocates on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Rei completed his studies in Rhetoric at The Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed rescue diver, an avid runner, and an amateur houseplant enthusiast.
